art related jobs in london

I have the same opinion about internships usefulness in finding an art related job: I got my job after completing an internship and I think it is a great opportunity to make your way into creative environment. it might be not as friendly for your pocket as for your employment chances but it has proved to give results. the nature of your work during the internship is different comparing to paid work as well as the exchange during an interrnship is: your actual work for the work experience and 'know how' so you should be encouraged to learn as much as possible.

Bit more about job hunt

On the contrary, finding creative job in London is quite easy I must say. The first job take a bit longer but later changing a job may take as much as just couple of weeks. But that's my experience. Yes indeed there is though competition out there, but there is a lots of space to fill. Some jobs yes you do find through contacts, but there is anyway official way of recruitment process to choose the right person. job sections there: Design Week Creative Review Agencies: Biggest creative job agency, juz send them your CV and cover letter or even better call them. Nice and helpful people.: http://www.ecomrecruitment.com/ http://www.creativepersonnel.co.uk http://www.filtertalent.com/ http://jobs.chinwag.com/ http://jobs.brandrepublic.com/ http://jobs.guardian.co.uk/employerjobs/creative-people/ Brief jobseeker journey: 1. send your CV out to recruitment agencies 2. when you find agency that would represent you they would look only on your CV and compare it with job descriptions, they do not know your job so they simply compare requirements with client's brief, and yes they do mistakes 2a. recruitment agency will want to meet you for internal interview if you do not have good CV but they see your potential, sometimes they may make some tests if you claim to have specific skills but do not have sufficient proof 3. if they decide that you would fit the position they ask you if they can send you CV to the client 4. if clients likes your CV and eventually portfolio you would be invited for an interview 4a. you will be provided with all necessary information regarding it by the recruiter. 5. depending on position and company there might be as much as few too many stages of interview (personal, conference call etc) 6.if they like you they would offer you a job through recruitment agency, it is forbidden to contact the company directly at this stage. 7. you have 7 days after you accept the offer to decide otherwise 8. you should receive a 2 contract copies that you sign and send back. 9. you can start the job on a date agreed with future employee, if it doesn't fit you(holiday etc) you should discuss it and you may be even given some free time off. 10. eventually you get employed and as usual have 3 month probation period followed by a review. this is to help you get on with people etc. So you can leave after week. After 3 months it is in your contract what is your notice period(from 1-6 months), and probation period is the only time that employer may tell you to leave. After that by law it is so bloody difficult to fire losers. I got lots more so contact me for more info and help with CV etc. Because CV is the most important part of it. Hope it helps some of you.
