Dear All,
There is an opportunity to let your creativity and good will meet with other people's passion about art!
We are organising an art event on the 27th of February that would include an exhibition (that will be held for a month), performance and barn dance! It will take place in Antenna Studios (
http://www.antennastudios.co.uk/mambotest/) in Crystal Palace which is an excellent venue for artistic advetures.
All sorts of disciplines are welcomed in the project as long as they evolve around the theme of folk tradition. As a part of performances there will be 3 stories narrated and acted out: an Icelandic story, Polish story and Finnish story. We chose these countries as there is an impressive community of people from Iceland, Finland and Poland living in Crystal Palace.
The ideas behind the project are multifold. First of all it's going to be a charity and community event. We are hoping to collect money for the people suffering from motor neurone disease. We are also trying to bring creative people together and have some fun. Moreover, the event is also about bringing people from different cultures together, communication across the cultures, exploring our innerselves and overcomming personal barriers.
As far as the Polish story is concerned it is going to be the Dragon of Wawel legend. We decided that each story has to be sharp in its style; therefore, the Polish one will stres the visual side most of all. The action will take mainly behind the sheet, so that the actors are silhouetted. We will also use the projector with stensils to support the story told be an invisible narrator.
If anybody feels like getting onvolved in the project or has extra ideas how to improve it, please don't hesitate to contact us:
